More than a martial arts class
Kids Jiu Jitsu gives children a positive place to move, learn and challenge themselves. Each class is built around clear instruction, age-appropriate techniques and steady progress.
Children learn how to listen, solve problems, work with a partner and stay calm when something feels difficult. Those lessons often carry over into school, sport and everyday life.
What your child can gain
Confidence without ego
Children build confidence by improving real skills, not by being told they are already good at everything.
Focus and self-control
Classes reward listening, patience and thoughtful movement instead of uncontrolled aggression.
Resilience through progress
Kids learn that mistakes are part of learning and that steady effort creates improvement.
Practical self-defence
Students learn awareness, balance, escapes and controlled techniques in a supervised setting.
Fitness that feels like fun
Movement, games and partner drills help develop coordination, strength and general fitness.
A supportive community
Children train with teammates who encourage each other and learn to show respect on and off the mats.
Is it safe for beginners?
Yes. Your child does not need any previous martial arts experience. New students are introduced to the class structure, paired appropriately and taught the basics before anything more advanced.
Technique and control come first. Children are not expected to fight, prove themselves or keep up with experienced students on day one.
What if my child is shy, nervous or not very athletic?
That is completely normal. Many children feel unsure before their first class. Coaches help them settle in, understand what is happening and take part at a pace that feels manageable.
Jiu Jitsu is not only for naturally confident or athletic children. It can be especially valuable for children who need a structured way to become more comfortable, capable and socially connected.
Age groups and what to wear
Classes are available for children from age 4 and up, with students grouped appropriately by age and experience.
Uniform policy
Families are welcome to source their own gi, and the academy can also help arrange one. There is no pressure to purchase a uniform directly from the gym.
